I swear, I cannot keep the days of the week straight.
I want something made with this quote from shitmydadsays. A large mug or a little poster or a little framed cross stitch, like this one.
I started You Better Not Cry by Augusten Burroughs and it is funny. This book is full of crazy Christmas stories. As child, he was obsessed with Christmas. In his mid-20s, he got a little bah-hum-bug. He goes out drinking a couple of days before Christmas:
Even at the filthiest hole-in-the-wall bar down by the West Side Highway they were playing “Jingle Bells,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” Here Comes Santa Claus,” and my own favorite, “The Chipmunk Song,” which makes you glad arsenic was invented. And all of this joyous noise was playing on an endless loop. Satan himself was the Christmas DJ.”
Rebecca and I went to the library and I just sort of surfed the fiction section, picking out books with pretty covers and/or cool titles and/or written by writers in other countries. Wish me luck, that one of them might actually be a good read.
In case any of my five readers don’t already know, Ed and I have been playing World of Warcraft for several years. My main character is a dwarf named Staggerlee (after the Dead song, not the Nick Cave song). She’s an engineer and makes all sorts of groovy gadgets, some of which help her in her adventures, fighting dragons and shit, others gadgets are just fun. One of the things engineers can make is a chopper, and I’ve wanted to have one for a long time, but even just learning the plans to make one is really involved, and the materials are really expensive, so I had sort of thought I might never get one. I finally got the faction rep for the plans, though, and then Ed was determined that we make a chopper, and today we did. It has a sidecar, even, and I took my peeps out for a spin.
First, Ed’s Death Knight, and then Rebecca’s warlock, Pegyo:
